Back in the late 90s the NYPost ran a story (that I can't find online) about a myriad of typos in Yankee Stadium's Monument Park. Here's a blurb about the story in another newspaper:
"The New York Post strolled through Monument Park in the Yankee Stadium outfield and found that eight of the 11 plaques that honor Yankees whose numbers have been retired contain spelling or grammatical errors, including a botched word (''unbrideled'') on Babe Ruth's plaque. Says Steve Rosenbloom of the Chicago Tribune: ''So much for the pryed of the Yankees.''"
I suspect they've probably fixed the typos, though I don't know for sure.
