The problem with these kinds of studies is the way people's epistemic views decide to use the information. For example some may see this as making homosexuality a naturally occuring phenomenon, while Fundamentalists would consider it a step towards "treatment" of a "genetic illness." As a happy, healthy gay man this frightens me, I don't want, nor would ever want to be heterosexual, I am happy with who I am. I would never want to be treated as a genetic defect, it would be like treating Asian people for the genetic difference of eye shape.
