Interestingly enough, nuclear power came from a nuclear bomb and, uh, God (I guess). Your quote is merely another data point on the trend line that tells us, indeed, something miraculous was begot by something catastrophically destructive and, in most cases, irrational.
And another thing: your girl's sources are all wrong; God is a man. I cite as undeniable proof that no one ever refers to God's mistress plan.
