The Washington Post's David Finkel wrote a comprehensive piece on the complexities of raising the minimum wage in today's WaPo. I usually take the position that public policy decisions are separate from morality, but it is hard to deny that some policy choices are moral issues -- especially when evaluated at the individual level.
