Pop Quiz

Pop quiz: How many people actually live in Washington, DC?

I lost a bet last night because I thought the population was over 1 million.  Although the DC metro area has more than 5 million residents, the District itself only has around 500,000 residents.  If you include the Baltimore metro area, there are more than 8 million people.

Bonus fact: NYC has a little over 8 million people.

Is that what you expected?

Dear Sharon: Indeed, DC's population is 588,292. Compare that with the population of Wyoming, which is 493,782. They have two senators and one rep. DC has none of either.

I live here, across the street from the US Supreme Court, and I can say it is a great place to live.

I graduated from UA Law in 1971.
