Aren't those fat people Meatloaf & Tiffany?
It's definitely Meat Loaf; the whole "I'll love you 'til the end of time" schtick is a takeoff on his 1978 song Paradise by the Dashboard Light. It's kind of disturbing when you consider that the song is about making out in cars, and was originally sung with Karla Devito (whom I believe is the woman in the commercial).
The part of the song they're using starts at about 6min:40sec.
It's easy to confuse him with Rush Limbaugh. If he showed up in a suit and started covering the primaries, I wouldn't notice.
Ha! Well, at least the commercial makes more sense now.
Thinking it through again, the commercial was successful in one sense: even for people like me who didn't get the Meatloaf part, it was weird enough to be memorable.
